    Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

    Congratulations on a great win on Tuesday night against the Apex Breakers! It was a close meet but the Sea Dragons fought, fought, fought to the end, just like our team chat!

    Today at Cary City, it was hot and Sea Dragons were on fire! Congratulations Sea Dragons on another great day of fast swimming!

    This week Sea Dragons have THREE fun meets to finish out the season:

    1. On Tuesday, July 18th, Sea Dragons host the Prestonwood Piranhas! TONIGHT at 11:30 pm is the Meet Sign-up Deadline! Please RSVP if your swimmer will be attending or not attending, indicate relay participation status, and preferred events (if any). Our meet theme is Sea Dragon Pride! Come dressed in your red and black team spirit wear! Complete Meet Info Below

    2. On Wednesday, July 19th the Mini Sea Dragons will have their season meet from 4:30-5:30 pm @ Cary Park Pool. Our meet theme is Princes and Princesses, so come dressed like royalty! Complete Mini Meet Info is posted HERE.

    ***Please come out and cheer on the Mini Sea Dragons! Having as many fans to support them makes the event both fun and memorable for the youngest swimmers!***

    Practice for 11&Up swimmers will be moved to 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesday, July 19th to accommodate the Mini Sea Dragon meet. Practice will be held at the regular scheduled time for 7&8’s and 6 and Unders.

    3. On Sunday, July 23rd, Sea Dragons will take on 23 TSA teams at the TSA Championships Meet. TONIGHT at 11:30 pm is the Meet Sign-up Deadline! Meet Info is posted HERE. Please do not forget to complete the required meet waiver for each swimmer: Link to Waiver

    The final event of the season is our Team Banquet:

    • Please RSVP for the Cary Park Sea Dragons End of Season Banquet on Tuesday, July 25th 6:00-7:30 pm at the Cary Park Pool. To RSVP, please follow the typical sign-up instructions and indicate which family members will be attending. We will celebrate another successful swim season together! Please RSVP by Saturday, July 22nd.
    • At the team banquet, we will celebrate our swimmers and coaches. All families are invited to contribute to the coaches' gifts. A range of monetary donations ($5 and up) can be made on the team website: Click Here. Please make donations by Saturday, July 22nd in order for gifts to be purchased.

      • Relay Events: $3 per relay swimmer

    Sea Dragon Mini Swim Meet: Wednesday, July 19th

    • What: A super fun mock meet for our littlest Sea Dragons
    • When: Wednesday, July 19th (Rain Date: Thursday, July 20th)
    • Who: Mini Sea Dragons Swimmers

    • Meet Schedule 4:30 - 5:30 pm:
      • Warm-ups
      • Event Order: 15 yd free, 15 yd back, 15 yd breast
      • Ribbons and Lots of Fun throughout!
    • Parent Volunteers: Mini parents will be asked to time swimmers
    • Practice Change: 11&Up swimmers will be moved to 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesday, July 19th to accommodate the Mini Sea Dragon meet. Practice will be held at the normal scheduled time for 7&8’s and 6 and Unders.

    Cary Park Sea Dragons End of Season Banquet: Tuesday, July 25th

    • What: A Celebration of CPSD swimmers and coaches

    2023 TSA Championship Swim Meet: Sunday, July 23rd

    • Meet Registration Deadline: Saturday, July 15th @ 11:30 PM
    • Meet Waiver: Every swimmer/parent MUST review and electronically sign the Meet Waiver. Link to Waiver: Click HERE
    • What: Championship Swim Meet with 23 TSA Teams

    • Parent Volunteers: Volunteers will be needed. Sign-ups will be posted on the Sign-up Calendar.
    • Meet Fees:
      • Families will receive invoices in their Family Folders and by PayPal notification AFTER the Cary City Swim Meet.
      • Families will be able to make electronic payments through PayPal.
      • Fees are $10 per swimmer fee, $6 per event, and $2.50 per relay swimmer.

    Cary Park vs. Prestonwood Piranhas Home Meet - Evening of Tuesday, July 18th

    • Meet Schedule:
      • 3:45 pm - Set Up Volunteers and Volunteer Check-in Coordinator arrive
      • 4:45 pm - Swimmers and all other Volunteers arrive
      • 5:00 pm - Cary Park Warm-ups
      • 5:40 pm - Judges/Timers/Clerks/TSA Rep Meeting in the Clubhouse

    • Parking:
      • Parking is limited in the Cary Pool parking lot and primarily reserved for the away team. Click Here for parking diagram.
      • Please park on side streets (do NOT park on Cary Glen Blvd.). Do not block intersections or driveways.
      • Walk or carpool, if convenient.
      • Please drive slowly and watch for children in the parking lot.
    • Swimmer Seating:
      • All Swimmers will sit on the pool deck by age group. Age Group tents will be labeled. Swimmers are encouraged to bring folding chairs to sit on (there will not be chairs on the deck).
      • Starting on the far left (near blocks) under the pergola begins the 6&Under tent and then age groups increase along the side of the pool under the pergola and wrap around the corner with the oldest age groups last.

      • The Wade and Slide Pool will be closed to the swim team during the meet.
      • The Clubhouse will also be closed during the meet; please use the poolside restrooms.
    • Spectator Seating:
      • ALL spectators and non-volunteers will be seated OUTSIDE of the pool fence. Please bring a lawn chair to sit in.
      • Only swimmers, coaches, and volunteers are permitted on the pool deck. Swimmers will be supervised by Dragon Tamer volunteers on the pool deck. Parents cannot sit with swimmers on the pool deck.
      • Parents should check swimmers out with Dragon Tamers, especially the younger age groups.

    • Spectator Viewing:
      • To view your swimmer’s event, please enter the pool deck and proceed to the View and Go Lane. This lane is for parents with swimmers’ in the pool or in the next heat, and to give a hug/high-five immediately after swimmers finish their race. Parents then exit the pool deck to make room for other parents to view.
      • The Porch is also not available for spectator viewing; the porch is for away team seating.

      • Reminder, all swimmers entered in free relays must stay to the end of the meet.
      • All volunteers scheduled for second shift or entire meet duration, are required to stay to the end of the meet.
    • Parent Relay:
      • Sea Dragon parents interested in swimming 25 yds (1 lap) in our parent relay, please bring your swimsuit/cap/goggles to the meet.
      • Please meet behind the blocks during the older swimmer breaststroke events (parent relays swim after breast and before fly age group events).

    • Meet Reminders: Please keep the deck and grass areas clean; please put trash in bins. Please do not walk in front or behind the tech team table (computer table by the starter); there are cords and tripping hazards and we don’t want anyone to get hurt.

      • If your swimmer participated in the Cary City Meet invoices can be found in your family folder AFTER the meet. Payments can be made electronically via PayPal.
