2023 Spring Pre-Season Swim Clinics & Lessons

There are several opportunities around the Triangle to learn competitive swimming skills and to get ready for the CPSD Summer Swim League season.

2023 Summer Season Swim Lessons at Cary Park Pool

• Note, swim lessons at the Cary Park Pool will not start until the pool opens. 

Option 1:  Cary Park Swim Club Members (Non-swim team members):

• The Swim Social Swim Agency will provide swim lessons to Cary Park Swim Club members.  The Swim Social is a traveling swim lesson agency within the Triangle Area that offers private lessons.

Option 2: Cary Park Sea Dragon Team Members:

Cary Park Sea Dragon Coach-Provided Swim Lessons:  

Coaches currently employed by the Cary Park Sea Dragons are permitted to provide swim lessons under the following circumstances:

• The lesson is for a currently registered Cary Park Sea Dragon swimmer (competitive or mini) in the current season
• The lesson occurs in the Cary Park Pool during regular pool hours with a lifeguard on duty Cary Park Pool Website
• The lesson must be completed 30 minutes before practice in order for coaches to break and prepare for practice

Scheduling:

• Lessons are scheduled in 30-minute blocks
• CPSD coaches should be contacted directly to schedule lessons. Coach emails are available on the SwimTopia website. Click Here.

Payment:

• The cost per lesson, per swimmer is $30 for 30 minutes

• Payment for lessons is due directly to the coach at the time of the lesson either as cash, check, or other electronic payment (e.g. Venmo) from the family directly to the coach

FAQ:

• Can non-swim team families or siblings of swim team members have a CPSD coach provide swim lessons?
  • No, under the Cary Park Sea Dragons insurance policy, liability coverage for CPSD coach-provided swim lessons only extends to registered Cary Park Sea Dragon swimmers in the current season.
  • Unlike in prior years, with the change in pool management companies from Triangle Aquatics to Coastal Carolina, LLC, secondary insurance coverage and payroll services no longer include swim lessons.

• Are CPSD coaches required to provide swim lessons?
  • No, CPSD coaches are not required to provide lessons and have the right to accept or decline requests at their discretion.
• Can the CPSD coaches provide lessons to more than 1 CPSD registered swimmer at a time?
  • Yes, at their discretion and with parent agreement, shared lessons are permitted, however the cost per swimmer, per lesson remains the same.
