2026 Season Practice Schedule

Attendance:

• No minimum practices are required during the swim season. Swimmers will see greater improvement if they attend at least 3 practices per week.
• Swimmers should arrive in their swimsuits 5 minutes early to begin practice promptly.

Conduct:

• Excellent Sportsmanship and Excellent Behavior are expected at all times.

Equipment:

• Label all swim equipment and personal belongings with the swimmer's name with a permanent marker.
• Do NOT bring valuables to practice.
• Practice equipment:
  • Goggles
  • Swim Cap - especially with long hair
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Kickboard - provided by Sea Dragons

Weather:

• The CPSD swim team will hold practices if the Cary Park Swim Club pool is open. If the pool is open during rain or high/low temperatures, practice will be held, with possible modifications at the head coach's discretion.
• The CPSD swim team will adhere to the Cary Park Swim Club pool rules regarding weather. Swim team members are to adhere to all directions given by pool staff and guards when told to exit the pool and deck area in the event of inclement weather.
• CPSD members should make personal family decisions regarding practice attendance based on weather warnings; swimmers will not be penalized for missed practices.
• All CPSD members are encouraged to prepare for outdoor summer practices with adequate hydration, nutrition, and sunscreen.
• At the beginning of the season with cooler water temperatures, swimmers should come prepared with dry towels and warm clothing for after swimming. Wet suits are permitted in practices only (not meets).
• Practice updates and cancellations will be communicated through SwimTopia Mobile App.

Cary Park Swim Club Policies:

• The following Cary Park Swim Club rules apply to Sea Dragon Swim Families:
  • Swim team members need to check in and out of the pool when attending practice with a membership key fob.
  • Swimmers ages 12 and under must have a parent or responsible designee present during swim practices.
