    Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

    Cary City Invitational Swim Meet is this Saturday! Sea Dragons are set to swim fast and enjoy a fun-themed meet. Our meet theme is Survivor (reality show), so come ready to show our Sea Dragon tribe spirit! Wear jungle-themed attire!

    Cary City Meet Officials have shared additional details. Please note updates to the following: traffic flow, parking, tent locations, pool map, warm-ups, concessions, heat sheets, results, and arm markings. Please see below and links.

    10 & Under swimmers plan to arrive at 6:30 am for 7:00 am warm-ups.

    11 and Over swimmers plan to arrive at 12:30 pm for 1:00 pm warm-ups.

    Leave plenty of time to park and find the tent location.

    41st Annual Cary City Invitational Swim Meet: Saturday, July 13th

    • What: Championship Swim Meet with TSA Southern Division Teams
    • When: Saturday, July 13, 2024 (Rain Date: Sunday, July 14, 2024)

    • Where: Away - Scottish Hills Recreational Club, 1423 Tarbert Drive, Cary, NC 27511

    • Parking:
      • Please enter the Scottish Hills neighborhood on Tarbert Drive from Cary Parkway. The road in front of the pool will be one way.
      • Stop at the Drop Off Zone in front of the field (marked with cones) and drop off your swimmers and gear and then park in the neighborhood. Please see the attached map for parking availability.
      • Please be respectful of SH neighbors and do not park in front of their driveways or walk on their lawns. Cones will be placed throughout the neighborhood to mark off "No Parking" zones.
      • Spots in Annie Jones Park and the Scottish Hills parking lot are all reserved for vendors, head volunteers, and coaches.
    • Arrival:
      • You can enter "Tent City" in the field near the drop-off zone. Entrance areas will be marked.
      • CPSD team's specific tent location can be found on the attached map. The tent for our team is provided! There is no need or room to bring your own tent! PLEASE BRING CHAIRS for swimmers and parent volunteers/spectators.
      • Please bring snacks, drinks, and activities to keep your swimmer occupied when they are not swimming. Bring lots of water to stay hydrated!
    • Meet Schedule:
      • Morning Session (10 & Under):
        • 6:30 am - Arrival
        • 7:00 am - Warm-ups Lane 3&4
        • 7:30 am - Cary City Volunteer Check-in Meetings Locations:
          • Stroke & Turn Judges: Meet between men’s and women’s restrooms at the front of the club
          • Timers: Meet near the starter’s tent/lane 1
          • Runners: Meet near the starter’s tent/lane 1
          • Kid pushers: Meet near the deep end
          • Thirst quenchers: Meet at the hospitality area (blue sunshades near restrooms)
          • Heat winner distributors: Meet at the scorer’s area (in the screened-in porch near the main entry to pool
        • 8:15 am - Session Starts
        • 12:30 pm - Session Concludes
      • Afternoon Session (11 & Up):
        • 12:30 pm - Arrival
        • 1:00 pm - Warm-ups Lanes 4,5,&6

    • Events and Event Order:
      • 6 and Unders: Swimmers are limited to 2 events: 25 yd Free and 25 yd Back. 25 yds is the full length of the pool (no rope or coach catching).
      • 7 and Older: Swimmers are limited to 3 individual events and 2 Relays.
      • Regulation distance age group events in Free, Back, Breast, and Fly and Relays (Medley and Free Relays) are offered.
      • For each session, events are in the typical TSA dual meet event order (Medley Relay, Free, Back, Breast, Fly, Free Relay).
    • Swimmer Arm Markings:
      • Left Arm: Swimmer's first initial and first three letters of last name
      • NO Swimmer Number for Cary City Meet
    • Heat Sheets:
      • AM Heat Sheet: HERE

      • Heat sheets are also accessible through the SwimTopia App. QR codes will also be placed around the pool area for quick access to the heat sheets without a SwimTopia account. Paper heat sheets will not be sold at the meet.
    • T-shirts and Equipment: Cary City Meet Tshirts will be sold for $20. Goggles, goggle straps and swim caps will also be available for sale.
    • Seating and Viewing:
      • Parents and swimmers bring their own chairs for seating in the team tent area. No spectator chairs will be allowed on the pool deck. However, bleachers offering limited seating will be available on the pool deck.
    • Awards: Ribbons and medals will be awarded to individual swimmers and teams.
      • Medals: 1st through 8th place in individual events, 1st through 3rd place in relay events.
      • Ribbons: 9th through 16th place in individual events, 4th through 16th place in relay events.
      • Heat Winner Ribbons: Heat winners in all 10&Under events.
      • Participation Ribbons: All 10&Under swimmers.
      • Trophies: Top 3 overall point scorers in each boys and girls age group; top five teams; spirit award.
    • Meet Results:
      • Results will be posted on the backboard in the tennis courts periodically.
      • The Trophy Awards Ceremony will take place at the completion of the PM Session recognizing our top finishers and spirit award.
      • Ribbons and medals will be sent to each team and will be distributed to families as they would after a dual swim meet.
      • Every race at Cary City Meet counts! Finishes are determined by all times and there is no main event.
    • Concessions:
      • Swimmers, families, spectators, and coaches will have a variety of food options at the meet. Most vendors (and the SHRC concessions) will accept credit cards and cash.
      • Main Shelter in Pool Area: Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits and sausage biscuits, donuts, muffins, snacks, candy, fruit, and drinks will be sold. Jersey Mikes will be available for lunch only.
      • Tennis Courts: Salvio's Pizza will be selling food for lunch only. Sunset Slush will also located on the tennis courts. There is a designated cafe area on the tennis courts with shade and tables so that you can enjoy your food!
    • SHRC Club Rules: No glass, weapons, alcohol, pets, or smoking are allowed on SHRC property for this event. SHRC assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
    • TSA Rules: TSA rules apply for this event unless otherwise noted. Clarification requests for Stroke and Turn decisions can only come from a coach or a TSA rep, not a swimmer or parent.
    • Restrooms: Next to Concession Main Shelter (behind the misting tent). See Map.
    • Year-Round Club Info: MOR, RSA, TAC, & WAVE will be on the tennis courts.
