Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!
Outstanding swims from our Sea Dragons this Tuesday against Scottish Hills! Our Sea Dragon team spirit and sportsmanship were on full display. Our swimmers shone bright and the parents/volunteers are so proud of all their efforts and positive energy!
This Tuesday, July 2nd, Sea Dragons hit the road for an away meet against the Abbington Alligators! TONIGHT at 11:30 pm is the Meet Sign-up Deadline! Please RSVP if your swimmer will be attending or not attending, indicate relay participation status, and preferred events (if any). Come wearing your Red, White and Blue! Complete Meet Info Below.
The July 13th Cary City Invitational Meet swimmer sign-up deadline is TOMORROW Sunday, June 30th @ 11:30 pm. Reminder, committed swimmers will need a parent volunteer. For more information on the Cary City Swim Meet Click Here.

Calling all High School Senior Sea Dragons! Cary Park Sea Dragons Swim Team offers a Senior Scholarship for applicants dedicated to the team, either as swimmers, coaches, or both, and who have demonstrated a high level of service and commitment. Scholarships are to be used toward post-high school education expenses (college or vocational school).
To be eligible, an applicant must have:
- Swum for the Cary Park Sea Dragons for at least 3 years during his/her summer age group swimming career,
- Must have been involved with the team as either a swimmer or coach for at least 3 of his/her high school years, including Senior Year, AND
- During his/her Senior year must have attended at least 3 dual meets.
- Complete and submit the Scholarship Application by the Monday, July 15th deadline. Please CLICK HERE for scholarship information and application.
The Board of Directors will consider both seniors' applications as well as observed participation as a CPSD community member.

There are open volunteer positions for our upcoming Away Meet on July 2nd at Abbington:
- July 2nd Away Meet:
- Dragon Tamer for 6&U Girls, 7&8 Girls, and 11-12 Boys; Place Judge; Shift 2; Kid Pusher Boys Shift 2; Setup Crew; Breakdown Crew
Volunteer Service Points are monitored to ensure a successful season. Swimmers' season awards, medals, and certificates will be withheld until the commitment is resolved with the VP of Volunteers. Families who do not complete the Volunteer Service Requirement this season also jeopardize their swimmers’ eligibility to return to the swim team next summer.

- Where: Away - 101 Kellyridge Dr. Apex, NC 27502 - Directions
- Abbington can be accessed on Highway 64 or Kelly Road. The Highway 64 entrance to the neighborhood is on the left 1.3 miles west of the Hwy. 55 overpass. When you turn left into the main entrance you will be on Kellyridge Drive. The pool is immediately on your left.

- Parking:
- Visiting team is welcome to park in the pool parking lot but there is limited parking spaces and carpooling is encouraged. Once the parking lot is full you may park along the nearby streets.
- Please pay attention to the no parking signs. There are two spots near the entrance of the pool reserved for the Gator Grill and for their pizza runner. Please be respectful of those spots.
- Swimmer/Spectator Seating:
- There is a section of the pool deck reserved for Cary Park. As you walk into the pool, the section is the far side of the pool deck near the deep end.
- Cary Park is welcome to set up their chairs and tents in this area. The home team will be at the front of the pool.

- Reminder, all swimmers entered in free relays must stay until the end of the meet.
- All volunteers scheduled for the second shift or the entire meet duration must stay until the end of the meet.
- Coach/Parent Relay: If the meet is running on schedule, coaches/parents relay will take place at the completion of breastroke and before butterfly.

- Concessions:
- The “Gator Grill” will be open during the meet. Please come hungry! Gator Grill serves hotdogs, hamburgers, pizza and other goodies for purchase. There is also offer home-baked goods and baked potatoes. Payment is via cash or Venmo only.
- You may bring your own food and coolers. No glass is allowed on the pool deck.
- As per TSA regulations no alcohol may be brought in or consumed during a TSA event. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the pool area.
SEA DRAGONS OF THE WEEK:
- Each week, coaches highlight two swimmers from each age group for their work ethic, team spirit, personal improvement, and/or overall sportsmanship.
- Sea Dragons of the Week can be found on the website Sea Dragon Spotlight tab.
- Please keep lawn signs on your lawn to be picked up at the end of the week and displayed for a new SDOTW recipient.
