    Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

    Happy Mother’s Day! The Mothers of Dragons on our team are amazing volunteers! Without their support, our team would not stay afloat! Thank you!

    Monday is the day! Sea Dragon Swim Season starts! We are so excited!

    Please join us for a Family Orientation Session on Monday, May 13th from 4:30-5:15 pm at the Cary Park Clubhouse to learn more about meets, volunteering, swim lessons, and Mini Sea Dragons. New and returning families are welcome to attend!

    Don’t miss out on all the fun! CPSD social events are on the website and team Google Calendar. First up is the Polar Plunge and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 18th during normal practice time! Brave the chilly first Saturday morning practice followed by warm delicious pancakes. And don’t forget Dragon Desserts every Thursday after practice!

    The Reduced CPSD Team Registration Fee Deadline is Wednesday, May 15th.  After May 15th, late registration fees will be applied ($10) per swimmer. Make sure everyone in your family and your friends are registered! Team registration closes on June 1st.

    Volunteer Shift Sign-ups will open on Friday, May 24th at 7 pm. Please see the instructions below. Pro-tip: volunteer shifts fill quickly when sign-ups open. Be prepared with job preferences and available dates when sign-ups open. For questions about volunteering, please email the VP of Volunteers ([email protected]).

    CARY PARK SWIM CLUB POOL REGISTRATION:

    • All CPSD swimmers are required to have an active Cary Park Swim Club Family Membership.

    CARY PARK SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION:

    • Early Swim Team Swimmer Registration runs until May 15th 2024.
    • Registrations submitted After May 15, 2024, a $10 late fee will be applied.
    • Team Registration closes June 1st.
    • Note, Cary Park Sea Dragons BOD will confirm that your pool membership has been paid before your swim team registration will be finalized.

    2024 SWIMMER EVALUATIONS:

    • If you have an 8 year-old or under swimmer who swam on the competitive CPSD swim team last year (not as a Mini Sea Dragon), your child does NOT need to be evaluated for the swim team.
    • All other 8 year-old and under swimmers (both new and returning Mini Sea Dragons) need to be evaluated for 2024 placement.
    • Evaluations will be held during the first 2 weeks of swim season prior to the June 1 registration deadline.
    • Swim Evaluation Sign-ups by Age:
    • 7 & 8-year-olds: Please sign up for an evaluation slot at either5:15, 5:30 or 5:45 pm on MONDAY, May 13th.
    • 7 & 8-year-old Evaluation Sign-up Link: Click HERE
    • 6 years old: Please sign up for an evaluation slot at either 6:00, 6:15 or 6:30 pm on MONDAY, May 13th.

    • Parents will select a 15-min time slot and the swimmer will come daily Monday through Thursday (May 13th/14 through May 23rd) at that time slot until notified of the final evaluation outcome.

    • For additional questions, families are encouraged to attend a Family Orientation Session on Monday, May 13th from 4:30-5:15 pm that will be hosted directly before swimmer evaluations.

    2024 VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS:

    • Each registered family is obligated to complete 12 Volunteer Service Points over the summer swim season unless you ONLY have a Mini Sea Dragon or you ONLY have a 15+ swimmer.

      • For each job, please note shift start and end times (volunteers need to report for entire duration), points assigned, and any additional requirements/training for the job.

      • Log in with your password to the team website.
      • Under the Meets & Events tab, select "Signup Calendar" to sign up for volunteer jobs.
      • Click the green JOB SIGNUP tab for a meet/social event and sign up for volunteer shifts for that selected event (note one parent may sign up both parents for jobs -- scroll down and you’ll see the other parent listed).
      • Click Save Assignments.
      • Click Back to Signup Calendar.
      • Click on another green JOB SIGNUP tab for a different meet/social event and sign up. Remember to Click Save Assignments.

    2024 TSA VOLUNTEER TRAINING CLINICS:

    • TSA Mega Clinics and Stroke and Turn Clinics provide volunteer training for the following specialized meet positions: Stroke and Turn Judges, Starters, Meet Administrators, and Coaches.
    • TSA is offering free Clinics for the 2024 season. No registration is required; please attend and sign in at the clinic to receive credit for certification.
    • All Stroke & Turn Judges, Starters, and Meet Administrators must attend one clinic.
    • Stroke & Turn judges need to be recertified each year.
    • A TSA Clinic will be held at Cary Park Clubhouse on the morning of Saturday, June 8th. For all TSA Clinic dates, times, and locations: Click Here

    IN-SEASON SWIM CLINICS & LESSONS:

    • Note, all swim lessons through the CPSD team and CP Swim Club will not start until the Cary Park Pool opens (Saturday, May 11th).
    • For CPSD swim team members, swim lessons will be offered by CPSD coaches starting when the Cary Park Pool opens (Saturday, May 11th). Last year’s procedures will apply to team member lessons this summer.
    • For non-swim team Cary Park Swim Club members (ex. siblings that are not on the team), lesson information will be forthcoming once finalized by the new pool management company.
