    Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

    Great job to our “All American” swimmers at the Greystone Away Meet! Swimmers showed Sea Dragon pride!

    This week Sea Dragons have two fun meets:

    1. On Tuesday, July 11th, Sea Dragons travel to take on the Apex Breakers! TONIGHT at 11:30 pm is the Meet Sign-up Deadline! Please RSVP if your swimmer will be attending or not attending, indicate relay participation status, and preferred events (if any). Our meet theme is Under the Sea! Come dressed in your painted fish t-shirts made at the age group parties and accessorize in all things tropical! Complete Meet Info Below.
    1. On Saturday, July 15th Sea Dragons will take on 26 TSA teams at the Cary City Swim Meet. Our Meet Theme is Hawaiian, so come ready for a fun tent-themed luau party! Complete Meet Info is posted HERE.

    CPSD Families plan to cheer on our Minis at their Mini Sea Dragon Swim Meet on Wednesday, July 19th during swim practice from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. More information to come.

    The 2023 Tarheel Swimming Association (TSA) Championships will be on Sunday, July 23rd. Be on the lookout for a separate email with meet details, sign-ups, and entry fees to be sent to families soon.

    Please RSVP for the Cary Park Sea Dragons End of Season Banquet on Tuesday, July 25th 6:00-7:30 pm at the Cary Park Pool. To RSVP, please follow the typical sign-up instructions and indicate which family members will be attending. We will celebrate another successful swim season together!

    Cary Park vs. Apex Breakers Away Meet - Evening of Tuesday, July 11th:

    • Meet Registration Deadline: Saturday, July 8th @ 11:30 pm
    • What: The Cary Park Sea Dragons travel to take on the Apex Breakers
    • Who: Signed-up Age group Sea Dragons Swimmers (Mini Sea Dragons do not swim Dual Meets)
    • Theme: Under the Sea - Come dressed in your painted fish t-shirts and tropical accessories!
    • Meet Schedule:
      • 4:45 pm - Set Up Volunteers and Volunteer Check-In Coordinator arrive
      • 5:15 pm - Swimmers and all other Volunteers arrive
      • 5:30-6:00 pm - Cary Park Sea Dragons Warm-Ups
      • 5:45 pm - Judges/Timers/Clerks/TSA Rep Meeting meet at the picnic tables
      • 6:00 pm - Swim Meet Starts
      • Apex Breakers Seniors will be recognized after Medley Relays or Free events
      • Estimated meet end: Between ~10 pm -11 pm

    • Parking: Please park in the pool parking lots. Families are also free to park along the street or at the nearby Apex Baptist Church (across from the park on Holleman St.).
    • Swimmer Seating: The far side of the pool from the entrance (by the diving well) up to the side lifeguard chair is reserved for the visiting swim team. This is the shaded side of the pool. Please bring chairs! Apex does not have extra chairs available for seating.
    • Spectator Seating: Deck space is limited, so spectators should set up tents and chairs on the grass outside the pool (near the playgrounds).

      • Reminder, all swimmers entered in free relays must stay until the end of the meet.
      • All volunteers scheduled for the second shift or the entire meet duration must stay until the end of the meet.
    • Parent Relay:
      • Sea Dragon parents interested in swimming 25 yds (1 lap) in our parent relay, please bring your swimsuit/cap/goggles to the meet.
      • Please meet behind the blocks during the older swimmer breaststroke events (parent relays swim after breast and before fly age group events).

    • Concessions:
      • Apex Breakers Snack Bar: BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, drinks, candy, and snacks will be available. The snack bar accepts cash, check, and Venmo.
      • Visiting team is welcome to bring their own coolers and food as well. Please remember that NO glassware or alcohol are permitted.
    • 50/50 Raffle:
      • The Apex Breakers will hold a 50/50 raffle as a fundraiser during the meet. Tickets will be sold at the picnic table near the snack bar. The winning ticket will be drawn after the backstroke event.
