CPSD Meet Etiquette and Home Meet Info - PLZ Read

Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

We had some issues with meet etiquette and with CPSD families not following directions on where to sit, park, etc.

    Some notes about meet etiquette:

Don’t leave early without notice!: We had some issues at our first meet with people leaving early (when they were still scheduled for events) and not informing both the dragon tamers and coaches. We had to scratch multiple relays (which is super mean to the kids who stayed till the end). When we don’t know that you have left we can’t make necessary changes. If you plan to leave early, make notes to the coaches on your meet sign-up. If you don’t plan on staying and you know in advance or for any other changes please email please email meetnotice.

If you have an issue with timing, DQs etc.: Talk to our TSA reps (usually John Martin will be there) or a coach can help point you in the right direction if you need it. Do not directly harass timers, clerk of course, or other volunteers.

Clean up after yourselves: Seriously people the pool was a disaster. Lots of trash, leftover food, beverage containers, etc. (13 and up area was particularly bad).

Electronics: We had some swimmers bring really big electronics (laptops and tablets). Please encourage them to leave stuff like that at home and participate in the meet (you know, maybe cheer for team mates).

    Some notes about meet directions:

This is the diagram of where you are supposed to be camped out and park.

Spectator Seating: We also had some issues with parents setting up in parts of the pool they are NOT supposed to be (including long time parents who know better - we’re watching you). The tables between the main pool and slide pool are for VISITING FAMILIES. Cary Park parents (who are not volunteering actively) should be in the viewing lane or outside on the hill. You most certainly shouldn’t be in the area behind the swimmers in the pine straw.

Parking: Unless you are an early volunteer or mobility limited, please don’t park in the lot at all. If you have to, then only the very back spots are for CPSD parents. Just drop your kids and go, you can get really close street parking.

Slide Pool: If you are there with a swimmer, then the slide pool is closed to you. There is really attractive extra real estate over there, it's for families not at the meet.

The Directions included in every home meet email (for those who missed the last X number of times)

      • Parking is limited in the Cary Pool parking lot and primarily reserved for the away team. Click Here for parking diagram.
