Monthly CPSD - First Practice and Volunteering
Sea Dragon Swimmers are about to make a big splash in the pool on Monday! Hopefully the weather will be great and the pool warm.
Summer Swim is all about Summer Fun! We have TWO exciting events on Thursday and next Saturday!
Volunteer Shift Sign-ups will open on Thursday, May 14th at 7pm (SOOOOON). In a change from prior years, we are opening volunteer shifts in buckets. Most jobs will be posted tonight including:
- All Meet Related Jobs (Timers, Concessions, Dragon Tamers, Etc.)
- Season Long Jobs to support meets
- Dragon Desserts
Only a few jobs related to social events will be posted later in the season, so Don't Miss out! Please see the instructions below. Pro-tip: volunteer shifts fill quickly when sign-ups open. Be prepared with job preferences and available dates when sign-ups open. For questions about volunteering, please email the VP of Volunteers ([email protected]).
Polar Plunge and Pancake Breakfast
- The Polar Plunge and Pancake Breakfast next Saturday, May 16th during normal practice time! Brave the chilly first Saturday morning practice followed by warm delicious pancakes.
- The Polar Plunge Pool returns for those wanting to get extra cold!
NEW / IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
2026 VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS
- Volunteer Job Sign-ups will be open Thursday, May 14th at 7 pm.
- Each registered family is obligated to complete 12 Volunteer Service Points over the summer swim season unless you ONLY have a Mini Sea Dragon or you ONLY have one or more 15+ swimmer. Examples
- If you have just Mini sea dragons - No points (but feel free to help)
- If you just have 15+ swimmers - 6 points
- If you just have 15+ swimmers and Minis - 6 points
- If you have any number of swimmers who are not minis and not 15+ - 12 points
- If you are on the board - You already get the points
- If you are still confused…ask a friend

- For each job, please note shift start and end times (volunteers need to report for entire duration), points assigned, and any additional requirements/training for the job.

- Log in with your password to the team website.
- Under the Meets & Events tab, select "Signup Calendar" to sign up for volunteer jobs.
- Click the green JOB SIGNUP tab for a meet/social event and sign up for volunteer shifts for that selected event (note one parent may sign up both parents for jobs -- scroll down and you’ll see the other parent listed).
- Click Save Assignments.
- Click Back to Signup Calendar.
- Click on another green JOB SIGNUP tab for a different meet/social event and sign up. Remember to Click Save Assignments.

REMINDER/REPEAT INFORMATION
CARY PARK SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION:
- Early Swim Team Swimmer Registration runs until May 15th 2025.
- Team Registration closes June 1st.
- Note, Cary Park Sea Dragons BOD will confirm that your Family pool membership has been paid before your swim team registration will be finalized.

SWIMMER EVALUATIONS:
- Coach evaluations are required for 1) All new team members 8 yrs and under, 2) All returning Mini Sea Dragons, and 3) Upon the coach’s recommendation.

- Reminder, swim team evaluations are designed to assess the current skill level of each swimmer; they are not lessons.
