Weekly CPSD - Meet Info
Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!
Sea Dragons swam fast against Medfield with lots of time improvements (and a few team records)! We won!!!! Great first meet swimmers, volunteers, coaches, and parents!
This Tuesday, June 17th, Sea Dragons will Host the Sunset Ridge Barracudas at home! Meet Sign-up Deadline has passed! Please RSVP for other meets if your swimmer will be attending or not attending, indicate relay participation status, and preferred events (if any). Come wearing your Hawaiian gear! Complete Meet Info Below.
A note about meet etiquette: We had some issues at our first meet with people leaving early (when they were still scheduled for events) and not informing both the dragon tamers and coaches. When we don’t know that you have left we can’t make necessary changes. If you plan to leave early, make notes to the coaches on your meet sign-up.
PRACTICE SCHEDULES CHANGE THIS MONDAY! Morning Practices begin Monday, June 16th. Afternoon practices have time changes for all age groups and Minis; 7 & Ups’ afternoon practice is also extended to an hour. Please CLICK HERE to view the morning and afternoon practice schedule changes beginning next week.
Families and swimmers have enjoyed the Pasta Pump-UP and Pie the Coaches Practice! Now it’s time for swimmers to PARTY! At their Age Group Parties, swimmers will enjoy pizza, treats, and fun. Please RSVP byMonday, June 23rd if your swimmer will attend on the Signup Calendar here. The 10 and Under Party is Wednesday, June 25th 5:30 - 9 pm and the 11 and Up Party: Thursday, June 26th 9 - 11:30 pm.
Family Folders in rubbermaid boxes will be placed out by the pool entry after dual meets during practice times. Please check your family folder to pick up Place Ribbons (1st-6th) for Heat 1 and Relay Events. The final distribution of unclaimed ribbons will be at the End of Season Awards Ceremony.
Please note that all 10 and under swimmers who are in Heats 2+ (not Heat 1) receive either a Heat Winner (black) or Participation (green) ribbon immediately after their events. All Heat 1 and Relay swimmers receive their Place Ribbons (1st-6th) after the meet in the Family Folders.
Reminder, Sea Dragons of the Week (SDOTW) are recognized with a certificate (to keep) and a lawn sign (to be collected and reused). Please keep lawn signs on your lawn to be picked up at the end of the week and displayed for a new SDOTW recipient. Thank you!
Still need volunteer points to complete your 12-pt Service Requirement? There are open volunteer positions for:
- June 24th - Away at Scottish Hills - Clerks of Course
- July 1st - Away at Seven Oaks - Clerks of Course
- Waitlists for events that your children will be attending
Volunteer Service Points are monitored to ensure a successful season. Swimmers' season awards, medals, and certificates will be withheld until the commitment is resolved with the VP of Volunteers. Families who do not complete the Volunteer Service Requirement this season also jeopardize their swimmers’ eligibility to return to the swim team next summer.
