Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

What better thing to do over spring break than to register for swim team and buy your swag from our new team store! Swim season is less than two months away!

The CPSD BOD is excited to announce our 2025 Assistant Coaches, Sydney Asermely, Christopher Bondo, Lily Hillenbach, Arjun Kumar, and Pradyun Nemani! These experienced Assistant Coaches are excited to return to the Sea Dragon team as leaders and mentors.

Do you value organization, communication and a well-executed plan? Then we need you! The Board is looking for 1 (or 2 if you want to partner up) parents to join and take charge of organizing our Volunteers. This is a critical position to have filled before the season starts! Reminder that board members earn all 12 points volunteer points for this role. If you are interested please email [email protected].

NEW INFORMATION

FAMILY ORIENTATION SESSION:

• New and returning families interested in learning more about the swim team, please join BOD members at our Family Orientation Information Session.
• The session will review practices, swim meets, and volunteer requirements as well as answer parent questions.
  • Monday, May 12th 4:30-5:15 pm at the Cary Park Clubhouse

SWIMMER EVALUATIONS:

• Coach evaluations are required for 1) All new team members 8 yrs and under, 2) All returning Mini Sea Dragons, and 3) Upon the coach’s recommendation.
• To learn more about evaluation outcomes and team eligibility, Click Here.
• Reminder, swim team evaluations are designed to assess the current skill level of each swimmer; they are not lessons.
• More information on evaluation schedule and sign-ups will be forthcoming (closer to season start).

REMINDER/REPEAT INFORMATION

CARY PARK SWIM CLUB POOL REGISTRATION:

• All CPSD swimmers are required to have an active Cary Park Swim Club Family Membership.
• Cary Park Swim Club Pool Registration - April 15th is the discounted fee deadline. Payment must be received by April 15th. Rates increase significantly after that date.

CARY PARK SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION:

• Early Swim Team Swimmer Registration runs until May 15th.
• Team Registration closes June 1st.
• Note, Cary Park Sea Dragons BOD will confirm that your Family pool membership has been paid before your swim team registration will be finalized.

• Purchase Spirit Wear - The team store has moved! We have opened a Swim Outlet store where you can purchase T-shirts and other swag, with 15% of proceeds going to the team. Sea Dragons Swim Outlet Store

SEA DRAGONS TEAM SWIMSUITS:

• 2025 Sea Dragons Team Swimsuits - Swimsuit options, fitting, and ordering information are posted on the Swimtopia team website.

PRE-SEASON SWIM CLINICS & LESSONS:

• Pre-season swim lessons and clinics are offered by local swim teams and schools before the first CPSD practice and swim evaluations (Monday, May 12th).
• Year-round swim teams (MOR, RSA, TAC, etc.) offer swim lessons, as well as swim schools and fitness centers (YMCA, UNC Wellness, PhD Swim School, Triangle Swim School, Aqua-tots, Goldfish Swim School, etc.).
• Swim team evaluations are designed to assess the current skill level of each swimmer; they are not lessons.

IN-SEASON SWIM CLINICS & LESSONS:

• Note, all swim lessons through the CPSD team and CP Swim Club will not start until the Cary Park Pool opens (Saturday, May 10th).
• For CPSD swim team members, swim lessons will be offered by CPSD coaches starting when the Cary Park Pool opens (Saturday, May 10th). Last year’s procedures will apply to team member lessons this summer.
• For non-swim team Cary Park Swim Club members (ex. siblings that are not on the team), lesson information will be forthcoming once finalized by the new pool management company.
