    Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

    Happy New Year Sea Dragon Families! We hope 2024 is off to a great start! The balmy weather has got us thinking about summer swimming! Time to start planning for summer poolside at Cary Park! Pool registration and swim team registration are opening soon!

    The CPSD Board of Directors (BOD) is pleased to announce that Olivia Honaker will be returning as Head Coach for the 2024 season. Olivia brings a wealth of swimming experience and is excited to lead the Sea Dragons team again!

    Reminder, Assistant Coach applications are due Thursday, February 1st. The deadline will not be extended this year and late applications will not be accepted. Don’t miss this great opportunity to gain skills in leadership, teaching, and communication.

    Calling all fun-loving, creative party planning parents! The BOD is looking for two parents to lead our social activities. Be every swimmer’s hero with Dragon Desserts, Pie the Coaches, and fun parties! We’ll give you creative license to get the party started!     The CPSD Board of Directors (BOD) has important information about the upcoming 2024 season to share.

    CARY PARK SWIM CLUB POOL REGISTRATION:

    • All CPSD swimmers are required to have an active Cary Park Swim Club Family Membership.
    • APPLY and PAY BEFORE Friday, March 15th. Rates significantly increase after that date.
    • Cary Park residents can apply and pay online.
    • Non-Cary Park residents can apply online BUT check payment must be mailed and received by Elite Management by the March 15th deadline.
      • 2024 Pool Registration Rates:
        • Cary Park Residents:         Before 3/15: $485    After 3/15: $570
        • Non-Cary Park Residents: Before 3/15: $670    After 3/15: $785
    • All pool registration payments are non-refundable.

    • Note, Cary Park Sea Dragons BOD will confirm that your pool membership has been paid before your swim team registration will be finalized.

    CARY PARK SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION:

    • CPSD Swim Team Registration will open on this Swimtopia website on Wednesday, February 7th.
    • Early Swim Team Swimmer Registration is from February 7th to May 15th 2024.
    • Registrations submitted After May 15, 2024, a $10 late fee will be applied.
    • Team Registration closes June 1st.
    • Team registration includes:
    1. Agreements: Family Volunteer Service Requirement; Code of Conduct
    2. Waivers: Liability; Medical Release; Photo Release
    3. Fee Payment
    • Refunds:
      • By May 31st: Full Registration Refund
      • After May 31st: No refunds
      • Suspension or Dismissal: No refunds

    COACH APPLICATIONS:

    • CPSD Swim Team is currently accepting applications for Assistant Coach and Junior Volunteer Coach positions.

    2. 2-3 references with contact info
    3. Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certification documentation or planned completion date
    4. Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certification (online course) documentation

    • Both positions earn all 12 points for volunteer requirement.

    PRE-SEASON SWIM CLINICS & LESSONS:

    • There are several opportunities around the Triangle to learn competitive swimming skills and to get ready for the CPSD Summer Swim League season. CLICK HERE for more information.

    2024 SEA DRAGONS TEAM SWIMSUITS:

    • Swimmers have three options for swimsuits at team meets:
    1. Purchase the 2024 team suit from Kiefer Aquatics. For fitting and purchase information: CLICK HERE.
    2. Reuse a CPSD team suit from a previous year.
    3. Wear a red or black swimsuit. No other team logos on suits are permitted per TSA rules.

    POLAR PLUNGE for SPECIAL OLYMPICS:

    • Our neighboring community, Amberly, is hosting a charity fundraiser Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics Wake County on Saturday, March 9th. To participate or volunteer, please CLICK HERE.
