    Greetings Cary Park Sea Dragon (CPSD) Families!

    Sea Dragons showed great team spirit at Seven Oaks on Tuesday! We all got wet, but persevered! Today, swimmers got to Pie their Coaches in some good, messy fun!

    This Tuesday, June 27th, Sea Dragons host the Sunset Ridge Barracudas at home! TONIGHT at midnight is the Meet Sign-up Deadline! Please RSVP if your swimmer will be attending or not attending, indicate relay participation status, and preferred events (if any). Our meet theme is Winter Wonderland! Come dressed and accessorized in your winter-themed gear! Complete Meet Info Below.

    11 and Up Pool Party has been rescheduled! The older Sea Dragons will get to enjoy the pool portion of their party on Thursday, June 29th 9:00-11:00 pm.

    If you still need to pay for an Age Group Party that your swimmer participated in, please use the links below to pay retroactively. Thank you for supporting our social events!

    • Payment for attendees ($15/swimmer for food and craft) can be made here.
    • Siblings and parents ($5/person) payment can be made here.

    Sea Dragons will support the United Service Organizations (USO) with cards, snacks, and travel toiletries. Donations will be collected at the pool from July 3rd to July 9th.

    • June 27th Meet Sign-up Deadline:  Saturday, June 24th @ midnight
    • Home Meet vs. Sunset Ridge:  Tuesday, June 27th @ 4:45 pm swimmers
    • 11&Up Pool Party:  Thursday, June 29th @ 9:00-11:00 pm
    • July 5th Meet Sign-up Deadline:  Saturday, July 1st @ midnight

    Sea Dragons Give to USO:

    • Who: The Sea Dragons will partner with the Cary Park Community to collect items for the USO.
    • What: Handwritten notes, individually packaged snacks, and travel-sized toiletries will be collected at the pool, and then sent to the military stopping at RDU on their way to and from their deployment and duty stations. We will send a message of gratitude and appreciation to the members of the military.
    • When: Donations will be accepted Monday, July 3 through Sunday, July 9. Check your email next week for more details.

    11&Up Pool Party:

    • What: “After Hours” pool party (swim pool make-up)
    • Who: 11&Up Age Group Swimmers
    • When: Thursday, June 29th, 9-11 pm
    • Where: Cary Park Pool
    • Payment: If you already paid, you are all set. If you are just attending this Thursday the cost is $5 per swimmer (make payment here).

    Cary Park vs. Sunset Ridge Home Meet - Evening of Tuesday, June 27th:

    • Meet Registration Deadline: Saturday, June 24th @ midnight
    • What: The Cary Park Sea Dragons host the Sunset Ridge Barracudas
    • Who: Signed-up Age group Sea Dragons Swimmers (Mini Sea Dragons do not swim Dual Meets)
    • Where: Home - Cary Park Swim Club, 5353 Cary Glen Blvd, Cary, NC 27519
    • Theme: WINTER WONDERLAND - Come dressed and accessorized in your winter-themed gear!
    • Meet Schedule:
      • 3:45 pm - Set Up Volunteers and Volunteer Check-in Coordinator arrive
      • 4:45 pm - Swimmers and all other Volunteers arrive
      • 5:00 pm - Cary Park Warm-ups
      • 5:40 pm - Judges/Timers/Clerks/TSA Rep Meeting in the Clubhouse
      • 6:00 pm - Meet starts
      • Estimated meet end: Between ~10 pm -11 pm

    • Parking:
      • Parking is limited in the Cary Pool parking lot and primarily reserved for the away team. Click Here for parking diagram.
      • Please park on side streets (do NOT park on Cary Glen Blvd.). Do not block intersections or driveways.
      • Walk or carpool, if convenient.
      • Please drive slowly and watch for children in the parking lot.
    • Swimmer Seating: 
      • All Swimmers will sit on the pool deck by age group. Age Group tents will be labeled. Swimmers are encouraged to bring folding chairs to sit on (there will not be chairs on the deck).
      • Starting on the far left (near blocks) under the pergola begins the 6&Under tent and then age groups increase along the side of the pool under the pergola and wrap around the corner with the oldest age groups last.

      • The Wade and Slide Pool will be closed to the swim team during the meet.
      • The Clubhouse will also be closed during the meet; please use the poolside restrooms.
    • Spectator Seating:
      • ALL spectators and non-volunteers will be seated OUTSIDE of the pool fence. Please bring a lawn chair to sit in.
      • Only swimmers, coaches, and volunteers are permitted on the pool deck. Swimmers will be supervised by Dragon Tamer volunteers on the pool deck. Parents cannot sit with swimmers on the pool deck.
      • Parents should check swimmers out with Dragon Tamers, especially the younger age groups.

    • Spectator Viewing:
      • To view your swimmer’s event, please enter the pool deck and proceed to the View and Go Lane. This lane is for parents with swimmers’ in the pool or in the next heat, and to give a hug/high-five immediately after swimmers finish their race. Parents then exit the pool deck to make room for other parents to view.
      • The Porch is also not available for spectator viewing; the porch is for away team seating.

      • Reminder, all swimmers entered in free relays must stay to the end of the meet.
      • All volunteers scheduled for second shift or entire meet duration, are required to stay to the end of the meet.

    • Meet Reminders: Please keep the deck and grass areas clean; please put trash in bins. Please do not walk in front or behind the tech team table (computer table by the starter); there are cords and tripping hazards and we don’t want anyone to get hurt.

      • Pro-tip: All dual meet sign-ups are open. If you know your athletes will or will not attend meets this season, it is easier to indicate if they are attending/not attending now to avoid missing deadlines. Selections can be changed up until the deadline.

      • Family Folders in rubbermaid boxes will be placed out by the pool entry at Wednesday afternoon practices and periodically at other practice times.
